Bowron Sheepskins have been around in the New Zealand area since 1879 when George Bowron and William Bowron of the Yorkshire, England area decided to head to Christchurch in New Zealand. These two ... master tanners were ready to develop the dream of opening a tannery in an area with a population of approximately 29,000 people. The area was known for being the center of agriculture and known for quality sheep flocks, making this a wonderful location to strike up tanning and manufacturing. Their company started the tanning process in the 1990s known as the Whitan Process that became internationally recognized as improving quality while reducing the environmental impact. The company took off with their 100 years of knowledge and experience. They continue to provide products to this day that exceed standards of those who purchase their rugs and blankets.
One of their popular products is that of baby rugs, including their Bowron Babycare baby rugs in soft lambskin and shorn lambskin. These rugs are perfect for keeping little ones warm in the winter and cool in the summer. They are durable, safe, and soft, providing luxury comfort from a natural material.
